Why See San Francisco Ballet: Trio, Thatcher & Within the Golden Hour?
A rep production with a new work by Myles Thatcher
Three works including a second new piece from SF Ballet dancer Myles Thatcher comprises this special evening. The Company's own artistic director Helgi Tomasson presents his critically acclaimed work Trio, a collection of three miniature ballets, all set to Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence. The evening concludes with Christopher Wheeldon's Within the Golden Hour, a celebratory ode to both modern and classical ballet.
Myles Thatcher's as yet unnamed new work follows marks his second SF Ballet commission following his well-recieved 2015 debut Manifesto; he has also created new works for the New York City and Joffrey Ballets, making him one of the most promising young dancer/choreographers in recent years.
