Kendrick Lamar Headlines Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show

Author KevinKevin, February 10th, 2025

In the words of Samuel L. Jackson: "That's what I'm talking about!"

He shared the stage at Super Bowl LVI, and now Kendrick Lamar has become the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl, backed by Samuel L. Jackson dressed as Uncle Sam during Black History Month! One of the most inspiring artists in hip-hop history - and one of the greatest rappers of all time - Kendrick has three albums listed in Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time list and has won 22 Grammy Awards. He has always had a lot to say, and this time was no different.

About The Performance

Joined by SZA for Luther and All The Stars, with Serena Williams as a dancer, there were more than these two stars in attendance! Kendrick's performance was watched by the likes of Taylor Swift, Jill Biden, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Costner, and Paul McCartney, among others.

The show featured hits like HUMBLE., DNA., and TV Off, with visuals that included a tic-tac-toe board and a multi-tiered stage production. He even referenced his ongoing feud with Drake, hinting at Not Like Us, one of last year's hits that earned over a billion streams and five Grammy Awards - letting the audience fill in the blanks.

Pre-game and national anthem performances included Lady Gaga, Jon Batiste, Ledisi (Lift Every Voice & Sing), Terence Blanchard, and Harry Connick Jr.
