I expected to be mildly entertained by this venture by Bay Area Musicals, but I was completely entranced by this exceptional and truly world-class performance of a crowd-pleasing musical. Conor DeVoe and Danielle Altizio are stunningly well cast in the lead roles. They are a believable couple with great chemistry: DeVoe is an experienced dancer and Altizio is an up-and-comer with great stage presence. The choreography, live orchestra, and supporting cast are all first-rate. If you've sleepwalked, or literally fallen asleep, at name-brand musicals with well-known casts going through the motions, drop everything and go to the Alcazar before the show closes in a couple of weeks. It has everything that is right about musical theater and you'll practically be sitting on the stage to boot. And, no, I don't know anyone in the cast or company. But after this performance I'm going to be watching out for them for years to come.
