We went to see Mary Poppins on its opening night in Calgary and we loved the production! We sat in the 2nd Balcony and our seats were good enough as the sound is wonderful anywhere you sit. We especially liked "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" with the great dancing as well as "Step In Time" - again with the dancing. There was lots of humor in it, great singing and just nice to see a play from a movie you saw many years ago. There were quite a few children at the Jubilee and they must have all enjoyed it because we only heard a wee bit of chattering near the end. I would take kids to it but probably not under 5 years old as it is a long production even though it does have an intermission. There were a few changes from the movie - "I Love To Laugh" was not in there but there were a few new songs I hadn't heard and it all flowed very well. Highly recommend seeing!

Good but boring for small children

I brought my grand nieces, ages 3 and 6 to opening night. However, they were bored and asleep before intermission. I guess I expected it to follow more like the movie. I was kind of disappointed. I noticed a few children in the audience were also bored and ready to leave. We went ahead and left at intermission. Sad as I was really looking forward to the experience.
