Tosca
I was born, and have lived in the East Bay since 1943, I had plans to move to Tucson, Arizona in 2001, and I wanted to experience the S F Opera before I left for good. I invited the principal from an East Bay Adult School to attend with me as a first date. Our carriage was BART, making the road into S.F. and out after the evening easy and pleasant. Above the Civic Center BART Station are good restaurants that make reservations and fine food available. After dinner, we walked to the Memorial Opera House. The evening was warm and clear adding to the enjoyment of the night. Our seats in row six afforded us a perfect distance and view of the presentation on the stage. The program that night was Tosca. It was performed by artists of great skill. I was advised to use Tosca as my first opera experience because it is lighter and less serious than other productions. I enjoyed the evening. My first music genre is jazz, but now I have opera in my CD collection. Mom go? Of course !!
