San Francisco Ballet celebrate the work of two of Britain's greatest choreographers, Sir Kenneth Macmillan and Sir Frederick Ashton, in British Icons. In "Song of the Earth", MacMillan skillfully constructs a tale of love, heartache, and poignant endings through eloquent choreography harmoniously set to Mahler. Meanwhile, Ashton's "Marguerite and Armand" stands out as an embodiment of a passionate love affair, pulling the audience deep into the currents of their ill-fated romance, to the music of Liszt.
