San Francisco Symphony - Batman: Film With Live Orchestra

San Francisco Symphony - Batman: Film With Live Orchestra at Davies Symphony Hall

Why see San Francisco Symphony - Batman: Film With Live Orchestra?

I'm Batman

Long before the rise of the Marvel and DC universes, one film proved that superheroes could be done right on the big screen. Released in 1989, Tim Burton's Batman banished all thoughts of Adam West with a dark and brooding take on the comic book. Here was a gothic Gotham, patrolled by Michael Keaton's damaged hero, and Jack Nicholson's deranged (and very highly paid) villain. For Burton, it launched him into the Hollywood big leagues, and proved yet another successful collaboration with his composer of choice Danny Elfman, who provided the archetypal superhero score.

Experience The Bat as never before, with this screening of the movie, with the San Francisco Symphony playing Elfman's score live. We're not sure they'll play the 'Batdance' though...
