A thrilling evening of music is coming to the San Francisco Symphony as they are joined by conductor James Gaffigan and violinist Ray Chen this January. Together they will perform a trio of works, Missy Mazolli's Sinfonia (for Orbiting Spheres), Samuel Barber's one and only Violin Concerto, and Sergei Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5. Award-winning Taiwanese-Australian violinist Ray Chen has more achievements under his belt than anyone could believe. He opened the 1998 Winter Olympics in Japan, is partnered with fashion house Armani, is an ambassador for Sony Electronics, and was featured in the soundtrack of the League of Legends animated series Arcane to name a few of them!
James Gaffigan is an internationally renowned American conductor and has simultaneously been the General Music Director of both the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofa in Valencia and the Komische Oper Berlin.
