Studio Ghibli's star composer, Joe Hisaishi is bringing his expertise to the San Francisco Symphony this fall. Hisaishi, who has been responsible for setting the tone of the Ghibli movies since the very beginning in 1984 will lead the orchestra through your favorite songs from epics such as Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and the most recent installment, The Boy and the Heron. Japanese animation greats Studio Ghibli have long been beloved and known as one of the leaders in their field and indeed succeeded in founder Hayao Miyakazi's goal of "blowing a new wind through the industry". They have won multiple awards, including Oscars and Golden Globes.
