The American Jazz singer-songwriter Kurt Elling has won the Down Beat and JazzTimes critics' polls three years in a row in the Best Male Singer category. He is also Vice Chair of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the 17,000-member service organization that produces the annual Grammy Awards.

Who is Kurt Elling?

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he developed an interest in music through his father, who was a Kapellmeister at a Lutheran church. Elling has been nominated for ten Grammy Awards and won Best Vocal Jazz Album for Dedicated to You (2009) and Secrets Are the Best Stories (2021).
