World Tour 2017

The term Afghan popstar may not spring instantly to one's mind but Pashto star Farhad Darya is a superstar in the Middle Eastern/Asian region. A singer, composer and music producer, Kabul-born Darya is a Goodwill Ambassador heading up the United Nations Development Program, as well as working on various other charitable causes. Based in the USA, he is responsible for traditional Afghan music into public consciousness as well as campaigning for peace in the country.

Despite music censorship all but banning popular music in Afghanistan during the Eighties and Nineties under Taliban rule, Darya's commitment to recording his music saw him emigrate to Europe and then to the States where his efforts saw him release a series of successful albums.
