San Francisco Opera - Turandot

San Francisco Opera - Turandot at War Memorial Opera House

Why see San Francisco Opera - Turandot?

AN ALL TIME FAVORITE

Whether you are a seasoned opera buff or a first timer, you can't go wrong with the pomp and passion of Puccini's final masterpiece. Prepare to be whisked to the historical Kingdom of Peking, presided over by a Princess whose heart is as hard as her beauty renowned. As the realm faces upheaval, peace depends on her choosing a suitor, but after swearing off men after the violent death of a beloved ancestor, its no easy task for even the most ardent admirer.

When the exiled Prince Calaf decides to try his hand at Turandot's mind-bending and often fatal challenges, it seems the bloodthirsty ruler may have met her match. Don't miss this opulent production that embodies the spirit of this strange tale of ruthlessness and love hard won.
